Aims & Scope

Aims and scope

The medical profession is faced with rapid change and a huge surge of new developments, and it can be difficult for busy clinicians to keep up to date and informed of new developments across the world.
The aim of HMJ is to address the problem of "information overload" by providing key summaries in each issue to help busy clinicians gain an overview of the latest developments in their area of specialty. These will be supported by original research articles, comments, case studies, opinions and stories of the latest breakthroughs in the medical field. We hope that the journal will provide a platform for the sharing of experiences to help improve health care across the world.
The journal is led by Professor Harald Rosen and supported by the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences. Over the years the Award has created a rich resource of works by leading researchers and doctors from across the world and this serves as the foundation for the journal. The journal will publish articles online as soon as they have undergone peer review and been accepted. The content will then be allocated to four issues per year. For details about the peer review system, please read the author guidelines. All content will be freely accessible online, and there are no publication fees.
The journal welcomes submissions, proposals and comments from medical practitioners around the world. To see what articles we invite for submission, please read the author guidelines.
