Professor of  Surgery
Studied Medicine at the University of Vienna and got his specialization in General Surgery in Vienna and the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard University in Boston, USA.

Visiting Professor at the Universities of Zurich, Switzerland, Charité Berlin and Regensburg, Germany; Krakow, Poland; Tromsoe, Norway, Alexandria, Egypt and Hamad Hospital Doha, Qatar and Belgrad, Yugoslavia.
Dr. Rosen published more than 200 research papers in highly ranked Journals (JAMA, Gastroenterology, British Journal of Surgery, Disease of Colon and Rectum, etc) as well as contributions to text books and is a pioneer of surgical procedures (e.g.dynamic graciloplasty, artificial anal sphincter and sacral nerve Stimulation) as a new treatment for coloproctological disorders

Reviewer for Journals like Colorectal Disease, British Journal of Surgery, Current Techniques in Coloproctology, The Cochrane Database and others.

Member of the Editorial Board of World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery

Dr. Rosen was appointed Professor of Surgery by the University of Vienna in 2001 and President of the European Society of Surgery (ESS) in 2005 when he hosted the Annual Meeting of the society in Vienna and is presently a member of the Board of the ESS.

He is acting as an examiner and teacher for the European Board of Surgical Qualification (EBSQ) for the European exams for Coloproctology as well as General Surgery and as an examiner at the Dubai Medical College

In 2011 Dr. Rosen was appointed as Editor-in-Chief for the Hamdan Medical Journal based in Dubai, UAE.

Presently he is clinically working as a Consultant for Surgery at the Vienna Private Clinic as well as the Al Ahli Hospital in Doha, Qatar
